Data Science and Information Technology (English-taught Program)

Program Overview

The Data Science and Information Technology program is an international graduate program aiming at the integration of science, engineering, business, and arts. Along with the rapid growth of data and information technology, this program actively explores the interdisciplinary application of data science and information technology in various fields such as natural sciences, engineering, economy, and social sciences. The program aims to bring technological solutions to worldwide scientific frontiers and strategic emerging industries regarding information, energy, and health, in order to tackle international scientific and societal challenges as well as cultivate leading scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs with interdisciplinary knowledge and international perspectives.

The program addresses unique graduate education with features of both Tsinghua University and some international top universities, which is backed by excellent faculty members and state-of-the-art experimental facilities. Faculty members associated with the program have international academic backgrounds, interdisciplinary research foundations, and collaboration opportunities with the industry. The research directions are disruptive, forward-looking, innovative, and interdisciplinary, covering emerging topics such as artificial intelligence, operations research & statistics, management science, computational imaging, smart grids, robotics, Internet-of-Things, nanodevices, photonics, bionics, flexible electronics, MEMS, smart materials, and AI-for-Science (for specific research areas, please refer to the faculty members' websites). Students and alumni of this program have received numerous domestic and international awards, with fruitful publications in prestigious academic journals (for example, Nature) and CCF-A conferences (for example, CVPR).
