Program Overview
The English-taught Master's Program in Biomedical Engineering and Translational Medicine is designed to address frontier challenges in biomedical health and align with emerging global trends in translational medical innovation. Building upon the established interdisciplinary strengths of Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School in biomedical engineering, precision medicine and public health fields, the program leverages excellent faculty resources and cross-disciplinary advantages across science, engineering and medicine to cultivate versatile talents with a global vision and high-level innovative R&D capabilities. Through an internationalized education model featuring interdisciplinary integration and industry-government collaboration, it aims to nurture high-caliber international professionals who advance cutting-edge biomedical engineering and translational medicine research, while contributing to the development of a standardized, internationalized graduate education system and innovative talent cultivation ecosystem at the Shenzhen International Graduate School.

Internship Opportunities / Professional Practice
Professional practice is a compulsory part of the program. Students may undertake practical training at iBHE joint training bases, approved organizations, or partner laboratories and enterprises. The program also encourages participation in enterprise projects that address real engineering challenges in synthetic biology and biomanufacturing.
Specific placements depend on project arrangements and availability.

Application Fee: RMB 800 (one-off charge)
Tuition Fee: RMB 33,000 per academic year.
Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Insurance: RMB 800/year
Accommodation
Dormitory rooms will be automatically reserved for international students. Students do not need to apply on their own. Housing for admitted international students is coordinated by the University Town of Shenzhen (UTSZ).

Graduates who complete all program and degree requirements will receive a Professional Master’s Degree in Biological and Pharmaceutical Engineering, with a specialization in Synthetic Biology and Biomanufacturing.
