• Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering

Aiming to create value for human health and happiness
  • Goals

Facing needs of the local and global healthcare industry, our research will focus on five areas of health engineering, innovative drugs, vaccine engineering, translational medicine, and life big data. We will create a new interdisciplinary field of engineering sciences, and work closely with industry to translate healthcare science and technology into reality. Interdisciplinary collaboration between fields such as life sciences, medicine, pharmaceutical engineering, biological engineering, chemical engineering and artificial intelligence will provide comprehensive solutions for the healthcare industry, and form a university-industry-research consortium in the field of biopharmaceutical and health engineering in the Greater Bay Area.

  • Research Areas

Focusing on two key bottleneck issues for human health, “preventive treatment of diseases” and “prevention and cure from the disease sources”, our five major research directions include health engineering, innovative drugs, vaccine engineering, translational medicine, and life big data.

  • 01
Monitoring tools, wearable technologies, and the functional evaluation, production and application of health-care products that help with health management and sub-health prevention and control.
  • 02
Manufacturing technologies and systematic evaluation methods for innovative drugs that treat major diseases.
  • 03
Vaccine design, build, testing, production and application for the treatment of infectious and chronic diseases.
  • 04
Precise diagnosis, and the clinical transformation of personalized treatment technologies and tools.
  • 05
Data acquisition and integration of clinical transformation, metabolism, health management, biomedical research and development and epidemiology, computation, and artificial intelligence.
