The Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) rowing team joined over 400 rowers from local and international teams to compete in the third stage of the third Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Rowing League Around X-Lake Sciensity on June 27.

Excitement was in the air on the morning of May 18 as the spring season of the Third Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Rowing League Around X-Lake Sciensity opened along the Maozhou River in Guangming District.

On the evening of November 25, the "Drama Meets Classics" theatrical reading event took place on the outdoor lawn at SIGS.

Frequent blood donor Zhao Qingru, currently a second-year PhD student at SIGS, recently became China's 15,907th and Shenzhen's 636th stem cell donor.

On May 11, 2023, the SIGS Office of Global Affairs, along with the Taoyuan Service Center for Expats, hosted a Chinese language class for international scholars.

Participants visited cultural sites and participated in handicraft activities in and around Shenzhen to deepen mutual understanding and strengthen friendly relations between international students and faculty and local families.

On November 15, the SIGS Rowing Team competed in the third and final event of the First Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes Rowing League Around X-Lake Sciensity on the University Town section of the Dasha River.

The first stage of the first Shenzhen X9 Alliance of Universities and Institutes (X9 Alliance) Rowing League Around X-Lake Sciensity took place along the Dasha River in Nanshan on November 6th.

“No matter where you are, the culture of Shenzhen is a part of you,” said Nael Hailemariam, a SIGS alum from Ethiopia who completed OPEN FIESTA’s Internet+Innovation Design program in 2021. Nael is the co-founder and CEO of Chapa Financial Technologies S.C. His experiences at SIGS and in Shenzhen have shaped his success as an entrepreneur.

The 2022 IEEE East Asian School of Information Theory (IEEE EASIT 2022) took place from August 2nd to 5th at the Shenzhen Institute for Talents Development. The four-day summer school brought together 107 graduate students from across East Asia; fifty-one participated offline. During the program, students attended eight tutorials delivered by expert scientists across different fields including information theory and machine learning.

In 2017, Ruomei's efforts paid off and she was admitted to the Tsinghua University School of Medicine. She joined Prof. Sun Shuqing's research group and started her academic journey at Tsinghua SIGS.

Yi Zhongkai still vividly remembers the day he arrived in Shenzhen in the summer of 2018: “I exited Shenzhen North Station and it was drizzling.” Zhongkai felt nervous leaving his family and coming to a new city. When he got to his dorm, he saw a message from his advisor, “Are you in Shenzhen?” His advisor’s thoughtfulness gave him a sense of comfort as he began his new journey at Tsinghua SIGS.

During his time at Tsinghua SIGS, Yuanxiong joined Prof. Ma Shaohua's lab. His research in organoid and stem cell engineering equipment research and development involved cross-disciplinary research in the fields of machinery, medicine, information science, and control.
