In the past year, SIGS has been recognized as a key higher education institution in Guangdong’s development plan for high-level universities. Five academic disciplines have been selected as key ones under the plan, a testament to the school’s remarkable progress in academic discipline development. In addition, the construction of teaching laboratories went smoothly and huge strides have been made in the development of research platforms. Secretary Wu Xiaofeng urged all research platforms, academic institutes, and administrative departments to reflect on how to improve, especially in regard to academic discipline development, faculty recruitment, community service, and internationalization. He urged attendees to continue to strive for high-caliber talent cultivation, innovation, and international cooperation, which will help Tsinghua SIGS become a world-class graduate school.
