On November 16, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Women in Science and Technology Forum was held at the International Conference Center of Shenzhen University Town. The event is a new parallel forum initiated by the 2023 X-Lake Forum. It was hosted by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and organized by the Shenzhen Women's Federation, the Science, Technology and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, Nanshan District People's Government, and Tsinghua SIGS.
Speeches at the event were given by Zhang Li, chairman of the Guangdong Women’s Federation, Liao Zibin, deputy secretary of the CPC Nanshan District Committee, Zhang Ling, deputy secretary of the SUSTech CPC Committee, and Ouyang Zheng, dean of SIGS.
Keynote presentations followed the opening speeches. In the presentations, experts, Fu Xiaolan, Zhang Xiaoping, Zhang Dapeng, and Wang Hongzuo, shared their successful experiences in the field of science and technology and emphasized the important role of women in helping the country realize self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology.
Signing ceremonies during the forum
During the forum, two signing ceremonies for funds supporting women in science and technology innovation were held.
On the afternoon of November 16, experts from national scientific research institutions, universities, well-known enterprises, and other fields joined three roundtable discussions on the future role of AI in education, supporting women’s career development, and the development of strategic emerging industries.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Women in Science & Technology Forum is part of the events for the X-Lake Forum. The X-Lake Forum was been held twice since 2021 and is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. It is a key event of the China Hi-Tech Fair. This year's Xili Lake Forum theme is Frontier · Reform · Connection and includes an opening ceremony, a plenary meeting, 13 parallel forums, and a series of supporting activities.
