Program Overview
The Master of Science in Environmental Science and New Energy Technology (Global Environment and New Energy) program is dedicated to developing global science and technology, fostering engineering leaders and future entrepreneurs, and to delivering high-caliber talent to address major regional and global challenges. The program prepares students to carry out innovative work in the fields of environmental science and engineering technology, materials physics and materials chemistry, and materials engineering. The program is a full-time program in English, with a duration of 2-3 years, and all professional courses are taught in full English. The whole program is carried out in Shenzhen and adopts an educational model that closely integrates cross-research and innovative practice. Students who have completed all the training steps and met the requirements of Tsinghua University for the award of master's degree will be awarded the academic master's degree of Tsinghua University.
Relying on the Institute of Environment and Ecology and Institute of Materials Research of Shenzhen International Graduate School of Tsinghua University, the program is a cross-discipline set up independently by Tsinghua University, and is a new discipline which is oriented to the future needs of the social development and has been filed in accordance with the requirements of the relevant national documents. The program has diverse teaching and research conditions, including laboratories, practice bases, and sufficient research funds, etc. The excellent international faculty can meet the demand for English lectures and guidance. In terms of curriculum, the program will combine the characteristics of interdisciplinary disciplines to set up a special course system that is adapted to the future development of the disciplines. As for the dissertation, students will carry out research and exploration in the context of practical problems, and form innovative research methods and technical programs. Through the course study, comprehensive ability training and dissertation, we will provide high-quality environment and new energy technology talent support for the country and the world.
