Pre-Departure Briefing for MAKE IT SHENZHEN Study Tour was Held

On the afternoon of June 12, the online pre-departure briefing for the MAKE IT SHENZHEN Study Tour, co-hosted by the Shenzhen Talent Institute (STI) and the Institute of Data and Information (iDI) at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), was successfully held. The briefing provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the study tour, which is scheduled to commence on June 23, and helped prepare young scholars from top global universities for their upcoming exploration of Shenzhen.

At the event, Professor DONG Yuhan from iDI delivered the opening remarks. He highlighted Shenzhen’s role as a key hub for China’s technological innovation, offering an exceptional environment for industry-academia-research integration. Emphasizing Tsinghua SIGS’s commitment, he expressed hope that the tour would help participants broaden their global perspectives and deepen their understanding of China’s innovation landscape.

Next, Ms. SHEN Wenhui from STI presented the five-day itinerary (June 23–27), featuring a dual-module structure blending academic workshops and hands-on experiences. Participants will spend two days at Tsinghua SIGS for lectures and group projects, followed by visits to leading Shenzhen enterprises like Huawei and BYD, as well as city landmarks. She also reminded attendees to bring essentials and recommended setting up mobile payment for seamless city living.

During the Q&A session, organizers addressed student inquiries on safety measures, completion certificate criteria, and pre-arrival preparations. They stressed the importance of full participation in group activities to ensure both safety and schedule adherence, allowing all participants to smoothly proceed with their Shenzhen itinerary.


In closing, an STI representative noted that the program, now in its ninth edition, has consistently attracted top talent from universities like Harvard, Stanford, and Oxford. This year’s tour will combine academic exchange, corporate innovation, and cultural immersion, offering participants a chance to experience Shenzhen and discover future opportunities.
