The program attracted enthusiastic participation from 26 international students representing 10 countries, providing them with an exceptional platform to gain in-depth insights into China’s academic advancements and rich cultural heritage.
On the evening of June 27, the closing ceremony of the 2025 MAKE IT SHENZHEN Study Tour Program was held. Professor Dong Yuhan, Deputy Director of iDI, attended the event and delivered a heartfelt speech to all participants. He expressed sincere gratitude to the students for their enthusiastic participation and highlighted the program’s diverse activities, which included academic lectures, lab and enterprise visits, and cultural immersion experiences. He emphasized that the students’ creative thinking and active engagement brought vitality to the program and significantly fostered cross-cultural exchange.
Professor Dong noted that this was the first time iDI had collaborated with the Shenzhen Institute for Talent Development to organize such a study tour. Through this immersive learning platform, the program showcased China’s openness to international talents, with Shenzhen serving as a vibrant window to the world. As a core hub of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Shenzhen is leveraging its policy and industrial advantages to build a comprehensive talent service system. Tsinghua SIGS, with its strengths in interdisciplinary research, offers a fertile ground for global young scholars to engage with industry frontiers. He encouraged students to turn their Shenzhen experience into a bridge for dialogue between Chinese and global civilizations, and expressed his hope that many participants would one day return to Tsinghua—either as students, researchers, or partners—to begin a new chapter together.

This year’s presentation session featured an innovative format combining “time-limited presentations + multidimensional scoring + full participation incentives.” The approach ensured fairness in evaluation while fostering vibrant academic exchange. It also encouraged participants to approach complex issues with innovative thinking and cross-cultural perspectives.
