Overview
Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduation School (SIGS) offers 22 Doctoral Programs and 39 Master’s Programs to international students. Master's degree programs are generally required to be completed in 2-3 years, and Doctoral degree programs in 3-4 years. For students with a Bachelor's degree who move on directly to pursue a Doctoral degree program, the study period is normally 4-5 years.

Application Requirements
Qualifications of Applicants
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid personal ordinary-type passport.
2.Master's degree program applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree to a Bachelor's degree (or above) in China. Doctoral degree program applicants should have a Master's degree or an equivalent degree to a Master's degree (or above) in China. The students who will enroll in 2026 must obtain the nationally recognized bachelor's or master's degree (for the universities of Chinese mainland) or the authentication report issued by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Ministry of Education, P. R. China (CSCSE) (for overseas universities) before THU graduate student registration date of 2026, otherwise the admission qualification is invalid.
3.For bachelor degree holders to pursue doctoral degrees. Applicants must meet all the uniform requirements of the university, as well as the requirement of non-native English speakers must meet the minimum English proficiency requirement that a TOEFL score not lower than 80 or an lELTS score not lower than 6.5.Applicants who have completed their undergraduate studies full-time in English must submit a certificate from their graduation institute. They may request an English waiver upon approval.

Financial Aid
The scholarships will be granted on both merit and need basis.
1. Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) - The Full CGS usually covers tuition, stipend, on-campus accommodation (or accommodation subsidy), and medical insurance. The Partial CGS includes one or a few items in the Full CGS. Annual Review is strictly required for all CGS holders.
2. Tuition Scholarship - For example, the Beijing Government Scholarship for International Students, covers full or partial tuition fee with a duration of one academic year. Applicants may apply for Tuition Scholarships annually (competitive).
3. SIGS Excellent Scholarship - Applications from full-time international new students admitted to our institute will be ranked and selected based on their previous academic achievements, research outcomes, and overall performance. The specific amount of the scholarship will be tiered and distributed according to the results of the annual selection process.
Living allowance
SIGS provides living allowance for all the students - 3,810 RMB/month for doctoral students and 600 RMB/month for master’s students.
Assistantship
SIGS also offers different assistantship for outstanding students: teaching assistant and research assistant.
Visa Application and Registration
Normally, registration is held in late August or early September at Shenzhen. All students should present the required original degree certificates, and submit the degree authentication issued by THU designated institutions upon registration at Tsinghua University for enrollment qualification review. Students who fail the enrollment qualification review will be disqualified from enrollment and study at Tsinghua University.
Accommodation
SIGS provides accommodation for all full-time graduate students.
School accommodation is automatically reserved for admitted students and students do not need to apply on their own.Housing rate for 2026 will be noticed upon registration.
Students who wish to live off-campus are required to provide the International Students & Scholars Center (issc@sz.tsinghua.edu.cn) with their address, and are responsible for completing a Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors within 24 hours of moving in.
