On the morning of September 12, Gerhard Kramer, Executive Vice President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM), led a delegation on a visit to Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS).
The delegation were welcomed by Dean Ouyang Zheng, Associate Deans Zuo Jian’e and Fu Haohuan, and Assistant Dean Wu Qianyuan. The two sides held extensive discussions on joint research initiatives, dual-degree programs, and student exchange opportunities.
After Zuo delivered opening remarks, Zhang Yi, director of the Office of Global Affairs, provided an overview of Tsinghua SIGS’s academic disciplines and international partnerships. Kramer highly recognized SIGS’s achievements in interdisciplinary innovation, industry collaboration, and its efforts in cultivating global talent.
Subsequently, both sides explored opportunities to renew the memorandum of understanding, create joint research platforms, and enhance bilateral exchange programs for faculty and students.
In his remarks, Professor Kramer noted that TUM views Tsinghua SIGS as a strategic flagship partner and expressed a strong commitment to deepening the relationship, grounded in shared development goals.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the campus and laboratories, during which Kramer and Ouyang held further in-depth discussions on future cooperation.
This visit has solidified the flagship partnership between Tsinghua SIGS and TUM, laying a strong foundation for broader, deeper, and higher-level win-win collaboration under the new framework of China-Germany scientific and technological cooperation. Together, the two institutions are committed to creating a new model of higher education and research collaboration between the two countries.
