Innovative Engineers Development Program Brings Students and Industry Together

Published:2026.09.09

The 2026 Fall University-Enterprise Innovative Engineers Development Program Fair was held on September 4 at Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), connecting more than 900 students with nearly 40 leading companies and over 300 industry-driven projects. The fair provided students with a broader platform to engage with real-world engineering challenges and explore opportunities for interdisciplinary innovation.

Leading companies including Huawei, Tencent, and Mindray continued their participation, while ByteDance andMeituan joined the program for the first time. The projects covered a wide range of cutting-edge fields and were developed around challenges currently being addressed by participating companies, giving students more opportunities to connect academic learning with industry needs.

As the number of international students at Tsinghua SIGS continues to grow, the fair introduced a dedicated session for international students for the first time. Six companies, including Tencent, BGI Group, OPPO, Shokz, and Urban Planning & Design Institute of Shenzhen, presented practical training opportunities open to international students. More than 200 international students attended the session, where staff members provided guidance on joint training arrangements and relevant internship visa policies, while company representatives introduced available projects and positions.

Since its launch in 2024, the Innovative Engineers Development Program has connected students with leading companies such as Huawei and Tencent, enabling them to participate in core industry projects and bridge the gap between academic learning and engineering practice.
