Professor OUYANG Zheng received his B.E. in 1993 and M.E. in 1995 from the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University, M.S. in physical chemistry from West Virginia University in 1997, Ph. D. in analytical chemistry from Purdue University in 2002. He became an Assistant Professor at the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering of Purdue University in 2007 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2012 and Professor in 2015.

He joined Tsinghua University in 2017 and served as the Chairman of the Department of Precision Instrument, the Deputy Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs.  He is also the founding Dean of Weixian College at Tsinghua University. Currently, he serves as the Dean of the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School.
