On 26 May Tsinghua University’s Hospital Management Research Institute, along with the Healthcare Quality Improvement Research Institute of Germany and the German Chinese Society of Medicine held a lecture on Healthcare Management in Germany at the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University. The event was hosted by Tsinghua University Hospital Management Research Institute Associate Dean XUE Lei, and attended by GSST Associate Dean XIA Guangzhi, German Chinese Society of Medicine Chairman Christian Ohrloff, German Healthcare Quality Improvement Research Institute Chair and Heidelberg University General Medicine Department Head Joachim Szecsenyi, Tsinghua University Hospital Management Research Institute Professor QIAN Qingwen, Shenzhen Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission Medical Affairs Bureau Deputy Chief HAN Chunyan, and Chinese German Society of Medicine representative LIU Yang.

In accordance with the aims of the Chinese German 2017-2018 Health Action Plan, Shenzhen Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission and Tsinghua University Hospital Management Research Institute have agreed to collaborate with Heidelberg University and German Healthcare Quality Improvement Research Institute to establish the German Healthcare Quality Improvement Research Institute, Shenzhen Research Center.

During the event, placards commemorating the inauguration of the new Shenzhen Research Center as well as the German Chinese Society of Medicine Liaison Office. Profs. Ohrloff and Szecsenyi each spoke at length on the German healthcare and quality management systems.
