The 5th Tsinghua-TUM Talks Event was Held

On the afternoon of December 5th, Beijing Time, the fifth "Tsinghua-TUM Talks" was held at Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School (hereinafter referred to as "Shenzhen International Graduate School"). The event was co-organized by Shenzhen International Graduate School and the Beijing Liaison Office of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University, and Juliane Winkelmann, Senior Vice President of the Technical University of Munich, attended the event and delivered speeches. Executive Vice Dean of the Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering of Shenzhen International Graduate School Professor Xing Xinhui, Vice Dean Professor Zhang Canyang, Vice Dean Professor Ma Shaohua, and Professor of TUM Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene, Academic Director of TUM Venture Labs for Biotech Professor Markus Gerhard, participated in the event and gave keynote presentations. Wang Runming, Assistant Professor of the Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering of Shenzhen International Graduate School, served as the host of the event.

Yang Bin said in his speech that advanced healthcare engineering demonstrates the transformative potential of combining engineering principles with healthcare innovation, and it is of great significance for the event to focus on this theme. In the context of increasingly complex and changing challenges facing healthcare, the in-depth cooperation between the two schools will help to jointly explore more cutting-edge solutions and bring welfare and progress to mankind.


 

Juliane Winkelmann Delivering A Speech


Juliane Winklemann said in her speech that this event is another important milestone in the flagship partnership between Tsinghua University and the Technical University of Munich. Over the past four years, the partnership between the two sides has not only flourished, but also demonstrated a positive and enterprising spirit in academic research and interdisciplinary innovation.

The Tsinghua-TUM Talks has been successfully held for four sessions since 2020. The theme of this year's event is "Advanced Healthcare Engineering", focusing on innovative technologies and cutting-edge research in the field of advanced healthcare engineering, covering many important topics such as smart medical equipment, precision medicine, and medical data analysis.
