Integrated Circuits and Systems
Program Overview
The Integrated Circuits and Systems Program focuses on teaching and research activities in high-tech industries such as wireless communications, biomedical, internet of things, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Building upon the solid foundation of Tsinghua University and industries in the Greater Bay Area, the program works closely with industry, provides an integrated and multidisciplinary education, and aims to nurture great integrated circuit industry leaders.
Our faculties come from varied sources, such as top universities in Mainland China, Chinese Hong Kong, US, Europe, and top fabless IC design companies in the US and Europe. They have rich teaching experience and fruitful research results, and are experienced in school-enterprise and industry-university-research cooperation, as well as international exchanges and cooperation.
In recent years, the program has led or joined more than 40 scientific research projects such as National Key Research and Development Plans, general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, National Natural Science Foundation Youth Fund, Guangdong Province Key Research and Development Projects, and Shenzhen Fundamental Research Projects. The program has published dozens of papers in top integrated circuits journals IEEE JSSC, IEEE TPE, IEEE TCASI&ll, as well as top conferences IEEE CICC, IEEE ESSCirC, IEEE ASSCC and has been granted or applied for more than 40 invention patents (including international PCT applications). It has established long-term cooperation with several international universities such as KU Leuven in Belgium, University of Toronto in Canada. The program has nurtured a large number of outstanding master graduates; and played an important role in research institutes and companies in the integrated circuits industry.
Program Features
- Multi-disciplinary integration
The program builds upon the school's multi-disciplinary advantages and rich resources in areas of integrated circuits, electronic engineering, and biomedical engineering. It takes integrated circuits as the basis and application systems as the carrier to build a comprehensive curriculum to nurture students.
- University-industry joint education
Leveraging advantages of the solid information industry in Shenzhen and the Pearl River Delta, the program involves outstanding companies in the integrated circuits industry to arrange professional curriculums and dissertation topics. Practical training is held either at enterprises or on campus. Participating companies include global top-tier companies.
- International education
The program cooperates with well-known universities around the world, such as the University of Toronto (Canada) and the University of Leuven (Belgium) to build a joint curriculum and educate students. The program focuses on cultivating students' international vision and encourages students to visit and exchange with overseas universities. Students have traveled to Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, and other countries to participate in academic conferences and exchanges.
