On July 2, a delegation from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS), led by Associate Dean Zuo Jian'e, visited Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). The delegation was received by Yuri A. Mazei, Vice President of MSU, Academician Andrey V. Adrianov, and other university leaders. The two sides held in-depth discussions on future cooperation.
Roundtable Discussion
During the meeting, Yuri A. Mazei extended a warm welcome. He introduced MSU's history, campus architecture, academic system, scale of faculty and students, as well as its long-standing cooperation with Chinese universities and the cultivation of Chinese students at MSU. Yuri A. Mazei emphasized that Shenzhen's unique geographic advantages in marine research, combined with Tsinghua University's world-class faculty and outstanding student body, will lay a crucial foundation for collaboration.
Zuo Jian'e pointed out that cooperation between Chinese and Russian universities enjoys a long history and the two sides maintain close ties. He stressed that the future belongs to the younger generation and expressed his expectation for Tsinghua SIGS and MSU to further strengthen collaboration in jointly cultivating a greater number of globally minded talents.

Witnessed by attendees, Zuo Jian'e and Yuri A. Mazei signed a MOU on behalf of both institutions. The representatives identified marine science as a priority for future collaboration, focusing on joint efforts in marine environmental studies, ecological research and exploration, to drive innovation and foster talent development.

In the afternoon, Mikhail P. Kirpichnikov, Dean of the MSU Faculty of Biology, met with the Tsinghua SIGS delegation. The two sides explored marine biology collaboration opportunities, after which the Tsinghua SIGS delegation presented Mikhail P. Kirpichnikov with a model of SIGS’ research ship.
As a leading Russian university with a long history and academic excellence, MSU's partnership with Tsinghua SIGS significantly enhances Sino-Russian higher education collaboration. Leveraging Shenzhen's unique marine advantages, it opens up new possibilities for joint exploration in marine science, environmental ecology, and talent cultivation.
