Tsinghua SIGS Visits Kanazawa University to Advance Cooperation and Exchange

From July 14 to 16, a delegation from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (Tsinghua SIGS) visited Kanazawa University in Japan. Led by Associate Dean Zuo Jian'e and Associate Dean of the Institute of Environment and Ecology Guan Yuntao, the visit focused on fostering talent cultivation and scientific research collaboration, with an emphasis on expanding short-term exchange programs and furthering the Double-Degree Master's Program (DDP) in Resources and Environment.


On the first day of the visit, the SIGS delegation held a productive meeting with Kanazawa University Vice President Morimoto Akiharu and Teng Xiao, Head of International Student Education. Both sides reached a consensus on expanding the scope of short-term exchange programs, while also discussing this year's enrollment and selection process for the DDP program.

During the visit, the delegation organized a dedicated session on the DDP program, engaging with current students and prospective applicants. Students who had previously participated in the SIGS Global Summer School shared their personal experiences of studying in SIGS and living in Shenzhen. Their valuable insights offered practical guidance to prospective applicants. Members of the delegation also provided detailed answers to questions regarding the program's curriculum, research opportunities, and other areas of interest.

In another discussion with faculty from various schools of Kanazawa University, the SIGS delegation introduced recent achievements in SIGS's international exchange initiatives and provided updates on the Institute of Environment and Ecology's admissions and teaching efforts. They emphasized SIGS's commitment to fostering multi-channel, high-level international collaboration.
