Program Overview

The Electronic and Information Engineering (Large Model Science and Engineering) program is a full-time Master program newly established in July 2025 by the Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) against the backdrop of the rapid development of the artificial intelligence industry and large model technology. The program conducts cutting-edge research and engineering applications in core areas of large models, including fundamental theory, architecture design, efficient training & inference, alignment & safety, and multi-agent systems, as well as their integrated applications in vertical industries and cross-disciplinary fields. This program, leveraging the synergistic industry-academia collaboration between Tsinghua SIGS and Tencent, integrates fundamental theory, practical application, technological innovation, and industrial intelligence in its cultivation paradigm, and aims to cultivate high-level outstanding talents and engineering leaders with both technological innovation capabilities and industrial development vision.

Research Areas

The research thrusts include fundamental theory and architecture of large language/multimodal models; efficient training, reasoning, and fine-tuning; retrieval-augmented generation; hallucination mitigation; chain-of-thought; model interpretability; model safety and alignment; model evaluation; multi-agent collaboration; as well as cross-disciplinary applications.
