The Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS) Virtual Open Day 2026 was held on December 5, 2025. The event was organized by the SIGS Admissions Office.
The Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Office Professor Guo Yutao opened the event by introducing SIGS’s abundant degree programs and short-term visiting schemes .He encouraged global talents to apply and join the school. SIGS current Ph.D. student Davit Khutsishvili shared his firsthand experiences in the vibrant academic life and the multicultural community at SIGS. The SIGS Admissions Office underscored SIGS’s robust financial aids system and had a highly active Q&A session with global online audiences.

SIGS Institutes Introductions
· Institute of Data and Information (IDI)
The institute focuses on three cutting-edge research pillars: embodied AI systems, AI+ foundational models, and intelligent instruments. Through close collaboration with industry leaders such as Huawei and Tencent, iDI offers bilingual programs including an English-taught Master’s in Data Science and Technology, designed to align with real-world technological demands.
· Institute of Materials Research (IMR)
Dedicated to innovations in energy materials, flexible electronics, and sustainable manufacturing, iMR provides access to world-class facilities like the Geim Graphene Center. Strategic partnerships with companies such as Diking enable substantial student support through scholarships like the International Future Scholars Award.
· Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering (IBHE)
This institute advances interdisciplinary research in cell engineering, health engineering, and pharmaceutical technologies. Its programs are closely linked to national health strategies and industry needs, supported by significant research funding and high-impact publication opportunities. A joint PhD program with the Shenzhen Medical Academy of Research and Translation (SMART) emphasizes translational medicine.
· Institute for Ocean Engineering (IOE)
Focusing on digital marine systems, offshore renewable energy, and sustainable ocean governance, IOE provides students with hands-on experience through global field trips and dual-degree programs, such as a collaborative master’s with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
· Institute of Future Human Habitats (IFHH)
The institute offers personalized curricula in architecture and urban systems, integrating sustainable design with advanced technology. Master’s programs include mandatory professional practice and abundant opportunities for international exchange.
· Open Faculty for Innovation, Education, Science, Technology and Art (Open FIESTA)
Emphasizing project-based learning in AI innovation, bio-design, and interdisciplinary research, the center leverages a strong global network and industry partnerships to help students develop solutions for complex real-world challenges.
· Institute of Environment and Ecology (IEE)
Its flagship international Master’s in Green Infrastructure combines coursework, professional practice, and thesis research, focused on sustainability. Students can also pursue dual-degree opportunities with partner universities in Japan and Europe.
· Institute for Hospital Management (IHM)
Programs are designed to train future leaders in healthcare through full-time and dual-degree tracks, including partnerships with Yale and LSE. The curriculum covers hospital management, digital health, and health policy economics.
· Institute of Innovation Management
The institute offers finance-focused master’s programs that rank among the global top five by the Financial Times. With scholarships covering 80% of students, IIM emphasizes industry mentorship, practical training, and international exchanges.
The real-time global viewership of the event surpassed 200,000, the highest viewership among Tsinghua University's school-level admissions information sessions for 2026 intake. This year’s Open Day reinforced SIGS’s commitment to attracting outstanding talent worldwide and showcased its growing influence as a global graduate education hub.
