Financial Support

Tsinghua SIGS provides various scholarships, including national-level, university-level, and school-level scholarships, to students who are citizens of countries other than the People's Republic of China and have received pre-admission offers. The types of scholarships and application procedures are listed in the table.


International students of the full-time program will receive the living allowance within the basic duration of study. For students in the joint training program, the living allowance shall be primarily governed by the joint training agreement.

Doctoral: RMB 3,810/month.

Master's: RMB 600/month.

A: National-Level

Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)

Type A

November – February of Next Year

Applicants should consult the relevant authorities (e.g. Chinese diplomatic embassies or consulates) in advance for the application information.

Applicants may also refer to the China Scholarship Council (CSC) website to find out where and how to apply: https://campuschina.org/.

Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS)

Type B

December – February of Next Year

1. Applicants must submit their applications through the CGS online system: https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn/#/login.

2. After the completion of the online application, download the “Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form” and collect all required documents. The complete application package must be submitted to the designated contact person at the intended research institute/program.

B: University-Level

Tuition Scholarship

May – June

1. Applicants shall apply in accordance with the official application notice issued by the intended research institute or program to which they are applying.

2. Applicants are required to complete the Tuition Scholarship Application Form and prepare the relevant supporting documents.

3. Applicants must submit the completed application form together with all supporting materials to the intended research institute or program for review and evaluation.

Chinese Government Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for Tuition Scholarships.

C: Municipal-Level

Shenzhen Universiade International Scholarship Foundation (SUISF)

April

1. Applicants must submit a complete application through the SUISF online portal by the deadline specified in the annual announcement, usually published in March. The announcement and portal can be accessed: 

https://www.suisf.org.cn/tzgg.htm.

2. The complete application package must be submitted to the designated contact person at the intended research institute/program.

Chinese Government Scholarship and University-Level Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply for SUISF.

D: School-Level

SIGS Excellence Scholarship

June – July

1. Applicants shall apply in accordance with the official application notice issued by the intended research institute or program to which they are applying.

2. Applicants are required to complete the SIGS Excellence Scholarship Application Form and prepare the relevant supporting documents.

3. Applicants must submit the completed application form together with all supporting materials to the intended research institute or program for review and evaluation.

Recipients of the Chinese Government Scholarship, university-level scholarships, and municipal-level funding are not eligible to apply for the Excellence Scholarship.
