Programs List

The Research Fellowship Program of the Institute of Data and Information (iDI) was launched in 2025. Outstanding undergraduate and graduate students from other universities are welcome to join the laboratories of iDI. Visiting students will engage in immersive research activities lasting two to three months (usually during the summer) under the guidance of leading mentors in their fields.


Through the program, visiting students will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborative research with mentors and students of the lab.

  • Participate in academic symposiums, lectures, and campus activities organized by the Institute and laboratory.


At the end of the program, students are required to submit a visiting summary report.

Support for Students:

1. Stipend:

The institute will provide a stipend for visiting students.


2. Accommodation Arrangement:

 Due to limited on-campus housing, if there's no on-campus accommodation available, the institute will assist in referring visiting students to apartments near the university town for short-term rentals. Students may also arrange for alternative accommodation independently.


3. Workspace:

If needed, the institute can help reserve a workspace in the shared study area for students to use during their visit.


Application Information:

1. Eligibility:

Undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled in other universities.


2. Application Time:

During the pilot phase of the program, applications will be accepted throughout the year. The duration of visit to our institute will be determined through negotiation between the student and the potential mentor.


3. Selection of Applicants:

The review panel will evaluate applications twice a year, with one centralized review round per semester. The application process will last about 2 months after the review start, please prepare in advance.


4. Application Materials:

  • Identify the faculty you wish to collaborate with and submit a research plan

  • ID photo (white background)

  • First page of the passport

  • Scanned copy of the advanced degree

  • Personal statement

  • Transcript from the current university

  • 1-2 Recommendation letters
