Dr. Chengyang Guo is an Assistant Professor and PhD Supervisor at the Insititute of Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School. His research primarily focuses on photophysics and ultrafast spectroscopy, with an emphasis on investigating carrier dynamics in bulk and low-dimensional optoelectronic semiconductors. He develops multimodal methodologies by integrating characterization techniques such as transient absorption (TA), time-resolved photoluminescence (TRPL), time-resolved microwave conductivity (TRMC), and terahertz (THz) spectroscopy. This integrated approach aims to deconvolute radiative and non-radiative recombination pathways in carriers, thereby guiding the performance optimization of devices. For novel systems exhibiting quantum effects, his work explores the observable conditions and experimental pathways for novel quantum photophysical processes under both single-body and many-body interactions. He previously conducted postdoctoral research at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge, and served as a Research Assistant Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is currently establishing a multimodal platform for ultrafast spectroscopy and photoexcited carrier dynamics to advance research on quantum effect mechanisms and their application in cross-disciplinary areas involving low-dimensional materials.
