  • Biography

    Dr. Changjin Wu is an Assistant Professor, and PhD Supervisor at TsinghuaShenzhen International Graduate School (SIGS). He gotPhD from the Faculty of Science, the University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining Tsinghua SIGS, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong and served as Principal Investigator at the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre.

    His research is centered on active soft matter and its intelligent functional systems, encompassing micronanorobotics, microfluidics, and artificial swarm intelligence. Building upon these technological platforms, his work advances a broad spectrum of applications including minimallyinvasive theranostics, smart targeted drug delivery, material selfassembly, wearable devices, and environmental remediation.

    Dr. Wu has authored over 20 peerreviewed publications in highimpact journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Science Advances, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Nature, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. His research findings have been highlighted in academic reviews as well as mainstream media outlets including People’s Daily and Xinhuanet.

    He holds appointments as Young Editorial Board Member and SpecialIssue Editor for multiple journals, including The Innovation, Exploration, NanoMicro Letters, and Research. He has led competitive research programs such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the University of Hong Kong Seed Fund. His academic recognitions include the Gold Medal at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, the Outstanding Paper Award from the University of Hong Kong, and the Teaching Awardin Higher Education.

  • Research Interests

    Our group designs and develops intelligent active materials and functional devices rooted in dissipative systems represented by active colloids. Key research thrusts are listed below: 

    1. Locomotion control and swarm intelligence engineering of micronanorobots –

    2. Rational fabrication and multiphysics responsive behavior of intelligent soft matter –

    3. Development of microfluidic chips and micronano devices (flexible wearables, ionic devices, etc.) –

    4. Functional translation of externally actuated active colloids: precision minimallyinvasive theranostics, targeted drug delivery, environmental remediation –

    5. Synthesis of morphologicallytunable inorganic and organic micronanoparticles, together with functional material selfassembly.
