Dr. Yao research integrates remote sensing, land surface modeling, and artificial intelligence to study terrestrial carbon–water cycles in the context of global change. By developing proximal remote sensing approaches and data-driven hybrid modeling frameworks, my work seeks to improve understanding of ecosystem responses and feedbacks to extreme climate events.
